SJO Supper Club at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Winter Park

Flemings logoIt’s high time for another meeting of Scott Joseph’s Supper Club, and I’ve got a good one for you. We’ll convene on Thursday, March 21, at the Winter Park Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar for a globe trotting experience.

The folks at Fleming’s, including operating partner Rebecca Gaines and chef partner Tom Nadolski, have put together a menu as mouthwatering as I’ve seen in a long time. The appetizer alone — steak tartar with truffle marscapone cream, fried capers and sour dough toast points — would be enough to make me happy for an entire evening. But of course we have more. Click here to see the full Supper Club menu.

The selection of wines will give the dinner a global flair, with vintages from Spain, Oregon, Chile and New Zealand. There has always been a careful collaboration between the chefs and wine experts at Fleming’s, so I know a lot of thought has gone into these pairings, and I can’t wait for you to try them.

The best part is that instead of the $125 you’d expect to pay for this dinner, I’ve been authorized to offer it for $75 per person, plus tax ($79.88 total). The gratuity is built in, so you will not be presented with a bill at the end of the dinner.

Seating, of course, is limited. And as always, recipients of this e-letter get first dibs at the tickets. To get yours, just follow this link. I’ll look forward to seeing you March 21st.

What’s Your Choice for the Official Cocktail of Orlando and Central Florida?

Cocktail
Regional cocktails — drinks that represent a geographic area — are a trend for 2013. But Orlando doesn’t have a drink to call its own.

So I’ve put out a call to the area’s mixologists and bartenders to come up with one. You can nominate your own favorite potent potable, too. Just follow this link and leave a comment — or vote for one of the cocktails already proposed.

We’ll have a mix-off for the finalists, to be determined by a panel of sober judges, at a date to be announced.
