May is going to be a busy month, and I wanted to let you know about a couple of really fun events I’ve got planned for us.
The first is a Scott Joseph’s Supper Club at Siro: Urban Italian Kitchen at the Mariott World Center on May 17. We’re finalizing the details and I’ll have a formal announcement next week. But I can tell you I’ve seen the menu and the Siro team is going all out to put together one very impressive evening (and even on until morning because they’re also offering an optional overnight stay at the resort). If you don’t know about Siro, you can read my review here.
The other event is going to be a fun evening featuring some of the area’s up and coming culinary talent. “Sous Chefs, Road Food and Rioja” is the theme, the date is May 21, and the location is road-food appropriate: the showroom of the Harley Davidson dealership south of downtown Orlando. Sous chefs are the second in command in the kitchen under (sous) the executive chef. Just about every executive chef served as a sous chef, so this is going to be a terrific opportunity to see the culinary stars of tomorrow. The Rusty Spoon, K restaurant, Emeril’s, Cress, and Txokos Basque Kitchen are just a few of the restaurants that will be represented. And our friends at Rioja will be offering the wine pairings.
I’m letting you know about this now because a lot of you were disappointed you didn’t find out about the Supper Club Party at the 4 Rivers headquarters and test kitchen until it was too late — it sold out in just a few hours after my e-letter announcing the ticket sales were live. (If you missed it, you can read about it here.)
So this is an advance notice: Tickets for both these events will go on sale Wednesday, April 16, at 10 a.m. I’ll let you know in another e-letter next week.
