I’m very excited to announce the next Pop-Up Dinner, and the final SJO Event of the year. This one is going to be epic, I promise.

The dinner will be Saturday, November 9, with a reception at 6:30 and seated dinner at 7:15 p.m. The theme is “A Celebration of Women Chefs, Restaurateurs and Winemakers,” and the lineup for the evening is truly impressive.

The chefs include:

  • Kathleen Blake, chef and co-owner of Rusty Spoon in downtown Orlando
  •
  • Jephanie Foster, former chef and owner of Blue Bistro and Midnight Blue
  •
  • Anette Grecchi Gray, the first woman to hold an executive chef position at Walt Disney World and first woman to be named corporate executive chef for Red Lobster
  •
  • Melissa Kelly, 1999 James Beard Award winner for best chef, kelly copy smallNortheast, and owner of Old Chatham Sheepherding Company Inn, Old Chatham, New York, and Primo at J.W. Marriott Grande Lakes, Orlando
  •
  • Julie Petrakis, chef and co-owner of The Ravenous Pig and Cask & Larder
  •

These extraordinary chefs will collaborate on the hors d’oeuvres for the reception and then each will take the lead on one of the courses.

In addition, I’ve partnered with Dhane Chesson and our friends at Vibrant Rioja and Wine on the Way  and each of the wines paired with the courses will be from women winemakers of the Rioja region of Spain.

The dinner will benefit the Women Chefs & Restaurateurs scholarship fund. Tickets are $125 per person plus tax (gratuity is included). Limited number available. Click here for more information and to secure your seat at the Pop-Up Event of the Year! As always, e-letter recipients get first crack at the tickets.
