As you may know, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is Nov. 11 and 12 and there’s a special VIP Champagne and Dessert Party planned for that Saturday evening at the new Swan Reserve. The resort’s certified sommeliers are matching sparklers to the executive pastry chef’s creations from 8:30 to 10 p.m. and the evening will end with an after party in the 15th floor ballroom with views of Disney fireworks. Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased here.
When Mason Jar Provisions closed on Washington Street it was hinted that it would relocate. That’s sorta true? According to Bungalower, owner AJ Haines is taking over the Manzano’s Deli space on Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park, but what he’ll open there is something called Hen & Hog. Have I ever mentioned that naming a restaurant is really hard? Watch for this H&H to open sometime next month.
Also in September, Kavas Tacos + Tequila, the long-planned concept from the Tapa Toro/Taverna Opa folks, will open at Pointe Orlando.
Indefatigable chef Hung Huynh will open a restaurant in Mills 50 District called Bang Bang Noodle Co. No, it’s not Second Amendment themed; bang bang is an Asian dish (though it would be cool if it the restaurant had a Sonny and Cher motif).
