An SJO Dining Deal: $40 of Food & Drink at Maxine’s on Shine for $20

Maxine small logoIf you read my most recent review of Maxine’s on Shine you know that I think the little cafe in Colonialtown South has finally become the comfortable neighborhood boite it was always meant to be. Whether you sit at one of the candle-lit tables on the sidewalk out front or at one of the tables in the small dining room, you’re sure to enjoy Maxine’s hospitality — and the good food. You’ll be surrounded by couples and friends enjoying each other’s company and, on most nights, quiet, live music.

I’m pleased to announce that Maxine and her husband, Kirt, have authorized me to offer an SJO Dining Deal of $40 of Food & Drink at Maxine’s on Shine for $20. It’s a wonderful opportunity for you to try Maxine’s if you haven’t been before, and a good reason to go back if you’ve been away for a while.

Also, with the holidays upon us, a $40 certificate to Maxine’s would make a nice gift — especially if you can get it for $20! (The certificates bear only the $40 value and not the purchase amount.)

  • {contentitem:1967|2} — The Avenue is Park, but the space will look familiar.
  • Plus lots more on the Reviews pages.

Win a $50 Gift Certificate to Luma on Park or Prato

Luma on park
How about this for a holiday treat? Over the next several weeks I’ll be giving away $50 gift certificates to Luma on Park and its sister restaurant Prato (it might actually be its brother restaurant — I’ve never really been able to tell).

If you’re signed up to receive my newsletter — and since you’re reading this there’s a pretty good chance of that — then you’re already entered to win. If you’ve received this newsletter because a friend forwarded it to you, you can sign up and be entered in these and all upcoming drawings by clicking this link to Scott’s Newsletter.

If you’re the winner, you may use the certificate at either restaurant.

The first drawing will be Friday. Watch your inbox for a message that says “A Note from Scott.”
