Morimoto Coming to The Springs

Written By Scott Joseph On June 17, 2014

Put Morimoto in the “sure thing” column.

As I told you in April, several big name restaurants are in talks to open at the Springs, Disney’s redo of the Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney, including STK, the Edison and Morimoto. No one from Disney is talking, and no one else will talk on the record. But my sources now tell me that Morimoto is a “done deal.” Another restaurant, the Boathouse, which is from the original owner of Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex Cafe, is already under construction. (Landry, which now owns both Rainforest and T-Rex, is not involved in the Boathouse.)

Masaharu Morimoto opened his first eponymous sushi and Japanese restaurant in Philadelphia. The Iron Chef also has Morimotos in New York and Boca Raton, as well as other restaurants worldwide.
