More Details on Upcoming Prato

Written By Scott Joseph On September 9, 2011

Update: Now open; see photos here.

I have some more details about the new restaurant coming from the team at Luma on Park. As I told you in a flog exclusive the other day, the name is Prato, and it will be located in a new restaurant space on Park Avenue not far from Luma (the former Ann Taylor store for those of you familiar with the street). Chef Brandon McGlamery tells me they’re aiming for a mid-October opening.

Here’s the official statement:

“This fall, the team behind acclaimed restaurant Luma on Park will bring a new Italian concept – Prato – to Winter Park.  Prato, a new upscale casual restaurant on Park Avenue whose name references the glorious region in Tuscany, will feature a seasonal menu of Italian specialties by celebrated chef Brandon McGlamery.  Chef McGlamery’s dishes will range from light primi and insalata options to house-made pastas, pizzas prepared in a custom-built wood burning oven, and inventive Italian entrées that utilize the best of local ingredients like sustainable seafood from Florida’s waters.   The 4,500 square foot space will feature a contemporary design tempered with rustic elements such as an exposed brick wall, wood beamed ceilings, a long bar through the center of the restaurant, and patio seating year round.  The beverage program will highlight a wide variety of wines from venerable old world producers as well as esoteric gems, and the specially crafted cocktail program will feature both classics and more innovative selections.”
