K Restaurant Goes Full Liquor

Written By Scott Joseph On November 30, 2017

k logoK Restaurant Wine Bar can now be known as K Restaurant Full Liquor Bar. The popular College Park restaurant has successfully obtained a full liquor license and will begin serving cocktails on Friday, Dec. 1.

A recent expansion by new owner Chad Phelps to an adjacent structure allowed the restaurant to add enough seats to meet the magical minimum number of 150 sets to qualify for the license. Phelps said that he now has 167 seats and more than 3200 square feet. (The expansion also allows for overflow dining and private space for parties and banquets.)

Anyone who has been to the K bar knows that space is tight. Phelps said he’ll free up some shelf space for the various bottles of liquor by storing white wines in a cooler in the expansion area. “We won’t have a thousand bottles of liquor,” he said Thursday, but they’ll stock all the popular varieties.

To celebrate, the restaurant is planning an “End of Prohibition Party” soon.

I recently reviewed the restaurant here.
