Guns allowed in Tenn. restaurants and bars; service, food quality expected to improve

Written By Scott Joseph On July 14, 2009

A new law that allows patrons with a permit to carry concealed weapons to take them into a bar or restaurant went into effect at midnight Monday. A last-minute effort by restaurateurs to convince a Tennessee judge to stop the enactment of law failed, according to this story from the Nashville Business Journal. Restaurateurs were concerned that bringing guns into places that serve alcohol might not be a good idea. Pshaw! What could go wrong? Look for all Tennessee bars to install swinging doors at the entrance soon.
