Grande Lakes Orlando Event and Activty Guide

It’s May, and Grande Lakes Orlando has announced its lineup of summery events, beginning with a spangled Memorial Day Weekend celebration highlighted by an appearance of the Red Bull Air Force.

No, the United States hasn’t resorted to selling naming rights to the branches of its armed forces. (Though come to think of it, that could be a good budget balancer.)

The Red Bull Air Force is apparently a skydiving team whose members wear wingsuits to incorporate aerial acrobatics into their act. They’ll perform Saturday, May 25, at 3 p.m., beginning in the skies overhead and then landing at the resort. Afterwards, fireworks, and I’m guessing a Red Bull cocktail or two.

That will be the kickoff to the GLO Summer schedule that will feature fireworks every Saturday through Sept. 2.

Highball & Harvest will feature a special holiday-inspired Memorial Day Weekend menu to honor the actual U.S. Military. And Citron at the JW Marriott will also have a commemorative buffet. Click here for Highball & Harvest reservations and here for Citron reservations. (Be sure to time your dinner to finish for the fireworks, which should start at 9 p.m.)

There are plenty of other things going on at Grande Lakes Orlando throughout the summer. You can see the whole lineup at the GLO Summer Event & Activity Guide.
