Now through the end of the month, Grande Lakes Orlando is hosting its popular Fall on the Farm weekends, every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Spread out around the resort’s 18,000 square-foot Whisper Creek Farm, the event includes numerous activities, including pumpkin carving with guidance from the resort’s Olympic World Champion culinary artist and carver Victor Dagatan. The kids can make a really jacked up jack-o’-lantern for Halloween.
There are also hayrides and mazes; musical entertainment; farm tours, including the apiary where bees are busily producing the resort’s own honey; a farmer’s market (with real farmers); falconry lessons where you can hold a big bird; and fly fishing instruction from Captain Mark Benson, who will teach you how to lure fish. (I’ve been doing it wrong – apparently standing next to the water and calling “here, fishy fishy” isn’t the recommended method.)
And of course there will be food and beverages from the Grande Lakes’ numerous dining venues and local microbreweries, including Whisper Creek’s own brew.
Tickets are $60, $40 if you’re staying onsite, and free for kids age two and under. Reservations are required, so purchase your Fall on the Farm tickets here.
Whisper Creek Farm is at 11706 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando.
