F&D Woodfired Italian Kitchen closes Curry Ford restaurant before new location is ready

Written By Scott Joseph On April 8, 2022

 FD closed

As announced in February, F&D Woodfired Italian Kitchen is being forced to move from its original space in the Hourglass district (which is in the Curry Ford West district) so that the developer can further develop the property. The southeast corner of Curry Ford Road and Bumby Avenue will hold a multi-story, multi-use complex.

Construction on that complex is set to begin imminently, so F&D has closed. Unfortunately, the building that it is moving to at the corner of Primrose Avenue is still under construction, so the staff is on a forced hiatus. With the job market wide open, they shouldn’t have trouble finding a new position at another restaurant (maybe even with the F&D group), but I’m guessing they would have liked an advanced notice.

The new location is expected to open sometime this summer, probably July, and when it does, it will likely drop Italian from its name, according to F&D Restaurant Group’s chief operating officer, Tim Barber.
