Cocina 214 is the winner of the Best Outdoor Dining Foodster Award for Independent Restaurants. Second place goes to the Tap Room at Dubsdread and Yellow Dog Eats takes third.

Cocina 214, the Tex-Mex restaurant on E. Welbourne Avenue in Winter Park, is a first time Foodster nominee and winner. “I love Cocina’s outdoor dining – great way to enjoy Park Avenue while also eating the best food!” wrote Catriona Harris after placing her vote.

Linda Hanlon Sutherland had nice words for her favorite: “Dubsdread is the best outdoor dining. It has good food, a nice view and friendly staff.” Dubsdread is known for its wraparound verandah overlooking the city-owned golf course.

Yellow dog

Yellow Dog Eats, in Windermere, serves its loyal customers in a covered garden.

In case you haven’t noticed, the weather is gorgeous these days. Take advantage and get out and stay out — dine al fresco on one of the winners’ patios.

Watch for an announcement soon of the next Foodster category.
