SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival, which it claims is Orlando’s largest theme park food festival – which must be true because they couldn’t say that otherwise, could they? – will kick off (launch? wash ashore?) on Feb. 4 and run every Thursday through Sunday through May 8.
Twenty-four festival marketplaces will offer 50 dishes and 150 cocktails, wines or beers. A new market this year, according to a press release, was inspired by “the tastes and smells of Ireland.” I recall walking along Temple Bar in Dublin one night and wondering, “What’s that smell,” but I’m pretty sure they’re not thinking the same thing. One of the items at the Ireland market is a reuben egg roll – can’t get more Erin go Braghie than that. Also new this year, the Flavor of Sicily.
A quick look at the other offerings shows such items as lobster, shrimp, tuna and scallops, which makes me wonder if SeaWorld is actually having a clearance sale.
The festival will also feature musical acts, including Vanilla Ice and Everclear, so kudos to the entertainment department for booking food and beverage themed bands.
You can see the entertainment calendar, menus and ticket information at the Seven Seas Food Festival website.
