Looking for lunch out by UCF? Head over to 11764 University Blvd. and you can have bragging rights for being among the first to be served at the newest 4 Rivers Smokehouse.

John Rivers and his crew were expecting a final inspection this morning and following that they will open the doors for lunch. A few seconds later, most likely, a long line will stretch out that open door.

This will be the sixth 4 Rivers Smokehouse that the Winter Park company has opened, the fourth in the immediate area. There are also 4 Rivers in Jacksonville and Gainesville.

The University Boulevard opening caused Rivers to push back the opening of his newest concept, The COOP, which will specialize in southern cuisine. Rivers said that having opened several smokehouses now, he thought it would be easier to get the UCF location up and running so that he could focus on the untested COOP. Look for that to debut later this month.

Of course, many of you will get a taste of the COOP at this Friday’s Supper Club event, which sold out in a matter of hours.
