If you participated in Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month this year, pat yourself on the back: You helped raise $195,125 for the Russell Home for Atypical Children. And no, you can’t claim it as a charitable deduction on your taxes.
The Russell Home, which provides services for special needs children, and some adults, was the charity chosen to benefit from this year’s dining event. Each year, Visit Orlando chooses a local charity to receive $1 from each meal sold at participating restaurants. Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month is a much-anticipated event that features three-course menus offered at a fixed price of $33.
This year’s amount was a record for MagDinMo, which has raised more than $650,000 for charities since 2009.
