The location is the former Lee’s Lakeside, once considered the jewel of downtown dining. It would have been nice to see an upscale/casual restaurant go here, but this franchise has turned the space into a pleasant gathering spot. Unlike many other Worlds of Beer, this one has a more extensive food menu, including full entrees. Not the greatest food you can find in the neighborhood, but when steak frites only costs $15, it’s hard to quibble.

The initials in the name of Y.H. Seafood Clubhouse, a new restaurant in the Restaurant Row district, are easy to explain: They stand for Yummy House, a Florida Chinese restaurant group with a handful of locations.

The Clubhouse part isn’t quite as clear. For me, clubhouse evokes rustic, almost slapdash digs. But Y.H. Seafood Clubhouse borders on elegant, a bright and glittery room with walls of tall golden panels with delicate floral patterns and tables covered with crisp white cloths. (The space, in the Whole Foods plaza on the southeast corner of Sand Lake Road and Turkey Lake Road, was originally O’Charley.)

The Seafood part of the name speaks for itself. Although this is a Chinese restaurant, its menu focuses on the region of Canton and its coastline on the South China Sea.

Among the hundreds of eating spots in Walt Disney Worlds culinary universe, only a few could be described as full-fledged steakhouses. Of those, Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disneys Yacht Club Resort is arguably the best. The meat is of high quality, and the portions are generous.
Did I say generous?
Let me tell you about the prime rib. My friend ordered the admirals cut, thinking that the captains cut wouldnt, well, cut it. This piece of meat was large enough to have its own Zip Code. I was surprised it took only one person to carry it to the table.
But not only was it a massive mound of meat, it was tender, too. The medium-rare cut was a juicy red and took no effort to cut. It was served au jus, along with straight horseradish and a horseradish cream sauce. Absolutely marvelous.
I also enjoyed the mixed grill, which featured smaller cuts of a filet, lamb chop and chicken breast. The steak was cooked exactly the way I ordered it and had a terrific charred outside with a warm red center. The lamb chop was dusted with rosemary and a bit of garlic, perfect accompaniments for the mild flavor of the lamb. And the chicken breast was thick and moist, if a little boring next to the other two.
As you enter the restaurant, you have the opportunity to say hello to your meal. Just to one side of the hostess stand is a large, glassed, refrigerated room where huge slabs of beef are aging. A sample tray with the various cuts of meat is also on display here.

I love seeing culturally diverse restaurants pop up in varied areas of town. So I was pleased to see Zeytin Turkish Cuisine open on Edgewater Drive just east of Lake Fairview and within sight of the Orange County VFW.

Zeytin is a small buisiness in a free-standing building, the former site of Woody’s Italian American Grill and Woody’s Wings & Whatnot. Woody’s gone.

Zeytin has a menu that belies its size, with myriad hot and cold appetizers, assorted Turkish pides (flatbreads), kebabs and sautés. It looks like an ambitious set of offerings but most are variations on the same theme.
