Here’s something you don’t see much anymore: a restaurant lowering its prices.

Denny Tornatore, chef and owner of Tornatore’s Ristorante and Italian Market in College Park, announced that he is reducing the prices from $2 to $5 on more than half his menu items. He said he knows the lower prices mean less profit, but he’s betting that the more attractive costs will result in increased sales. “I would rather make a little less per sale and sell more food,” said Tornatore

“This way our amazing guests that keep us in business get a little extra savings during these tough times,” he said. If you’d like to encourage this sort of thing, be sure to stop by Tornatore’s and tell him so.
