Thinking About a Life as a Chef? Better Read This First

Are you considering a life as a professional chef? Thinking that it would be a glamorous life, working with food, cooking and creating, and earning the praise of serious foodies?

As Ricardo Montalban used to say, “Welcome to Fantasy Island.”

The truth is, a life in a professional kitchen is not as glamorous as you think, and probably much more the opposite than you can imagine. This article on Scribd titled “50 things they never told you about being a chef” might be an eye opener. If you make it to the end of the list, however, you may get an insight into why people still want to do it.
