Sunday Buffet

Written By Scott Joseph On July 17, 2009

The country of Turkey now has better working conditions for all of its workers in the hospitatlity industry than the state of Florida. At midnight Saturday a ban went into effect outlawing smoking in restaurants, bars and cafes throughout Turkey, as outlined in this story from The Associated Press. In Florida, bars with food sales less than 15% of gross revenue still allow patrons to smoke, which denies workers in such establishments the right to a smoke-free  workplace enjoyed by all other citizens. Why doesn’t the Florida legislature see the double standard?
