Stefano’s Grill has finally opened in the Restaurant Row region, in the Marketplace at Dr. Phillips. It takes over the space that was once a Boston Market and counts a Keke’s Breakfast Cafe as one of its neighbors. It also has a long-standing Italian restaurant nearby, and because of a noncompete clause in his lease, chef/owner Stefano Tedeschi was not allowed to call it Stefano’s Italian Grill, which is what he named his last restaurant.
Actually, that one was called Stefano’s Italian Grille, with an e, and it was in a Windermere strip mall. And it was good, as I stated in the review I did of it in 2009.
After that restaurant closed, Chef Steff, as he prefers to be called, started looking for a new place to reopen. He found the Dr. Phillips space, but a series of events slowed the process until this past weekend.
The place is dinner only, but open every day. Brunch may come later. So will my review. But if the food is as good as it was at the old place, I’m really looking forward to dining there.
Stefano’s Grill is at 7512 Dr. Phillips Blvd., Orlando. The phone number is 407-668-4745.
By the way, this Stefano’s is not related to the Winter Springs restaurant with a similar name.
