Mi Tomatina is the charming little Spanish cafe in Winter Park’s West End that serves wonderful tapas and complex paellas. I love visiting Mi Tomatina with friends, sitting out on the patio, if possible — inside among the brightly colored prints of Joan Miro paintings if not — and nibbling on such things as croquetas de jamon or empanadas. Or maybe some anchovies served on a spear with pickled cloves of garlic.
Just recently, I visited Mi Tomatina to try the dish it is currently featuring as a fundraiser for the James Beard 30th Anniversary Scholarship, a breast of duck served with poached pears, which I reviewed here.
All of the food is wonderful — and service has always been superb — so I was delighted when the folks there agreed to offer an SJO Dining Deal to readers of the flog. You may purchase a certificate worth $40 for food and drink at Mi Tomatina for just $20. Click here to go directly to the SJO Dining Deals page.
You may purchase up to four certificates — get one for yourself and some to give as gifts (the certificates have only the full value, not the discount price).
A limited number of certificates are available, and the sale ends at midnight Wednesday, July 4. Certificates are valid beginning July 5.
Please see the Deals page for more information and some not-so-fine print. But do take advantage of this really special offer.
