Rocco’s Italian Grille turns seven this summer, and to celebrate, owner and chef Rocco Potami has added a whole bunch of tasty items to the menu. I stopped in recently to give some of them a try. I’ve always included Rocco’s as one of my favorites — Italian or otherwise — and after my last visit it remains so.

New items include penne tossed with sausage, red bell peppers and cherry tomatoes; pan-seared chicken breast topped with fresh tomatoes and smoked mozzarella in a white wine demi-glace; and freshly made pappardelle in a crazy-good ragu.

Best of all, several of the itmes are priced in the $15-$17 range. Rocco’s often gets slotted into the pricey category, probably because the white-tablecloth atmosphere makes it seem so tony. But when you can get this kind of quality for these prices, I call it a bargain.
Stop in and wish Rocco a happy anniversary and treat yourself to some really good food.
Rocco’s Italian Grille is at 400 S. Orlando Ave., Winter Park, just north of Fairbanks Avenue. It’s open for lunch Monday through Friday and Dinner Monday through Saturday. Here’s a link to Rocco’s website. The phone number is 407-644-7770.
