It’s official.John Rivers, owner of 4 Rivers Smokehouses, has signed the lease for the prototype of a new restaurant concept to be called the Coop.

The restaurant, which will feature gourmet fried chicken and Southern comfort foods such as shrimp and grits, will occupy the space on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and e Boulevard in Winter Park. Rivers, who has the savvy to stay on top of trends (fried chicken is all the rage in New York these days), says he hope to see the Coop fly in early 2014.
