Park Plaza Gardens Reopens

Written By Scott Joseph On October 16, 2013

Park Plaza Gardens reopened in time for dinner service Tuesday evening after an inspector from the health department had ordered it closed earlier in the day, as first reported here. According to restaurant manager Lauren Jordan, the venerable Park Avenue dining venue had a “good business” Tuesday, although she could not immediately offer exact numbers.

Jordan couldn’t offer any other comment other than one provided by owner Mary Demetree, which was left as a comment in response to readers on my Facebook page. The statement read: “Park Plaza Gardens Restaurant is currently going through renovation. The building is an old building . Health inspectors brought some issues to our attention and those issues were corrected in a few hours. Park Plaza Gardens Restaurant continues to be one of Winter Park’s finest dining restaurants and is one of the cleanest restaurants in Winter Park and we are open for business.”

Demetree, who is attending a conference in New York, said in an email message that she had no further comment.
