Norman’s celebrates six years with anniversary dinner Saturday

Norman’s, the excellent, high-toned restaurant of Norman Van Aken’s at The Ritz-Carlton, is throwing itself a party Saturday, August 8, to celebrate six years in Orlando. The theme is “A Norman’s Night in Havana.”

The evening begins at 7 and will feature food stations with tapas and mojitos plus wine and live entertainment. I’ve been led to believe there will be dancing. Cost is $100 per person, which is usually the amount of the tip for a dinner at Norman’s, so it’s a good deal, especially when you consider that includes tax and gratuity.

But how’s this for an even better deal? The Ritz-Carlton is offering an overnight package that includes two tickets to Norman’s Night and “deluxe” accommodations for the evening for $349 (tax and gratuites on the room are extra). So basically we’re talking about a room at the Ritz for $149. That’s so worth it — and you can enjoy an extra mojito or four knowing the only ride you have to take is the elevator to your room. (Keep it down; I just might be in the next room!)

For reservations for Norman’s only, call 407-393-4333. The The Ritz-Carlton deal, call reservations at 800-576-5760.
