The Hangry Bison is expanding to Lake Mary. Founder Joe Liguori said he’s taking over the former Liam Fitzpatrick’s pub site in the Colonial Town Park complex. “This is another corporate location (I will be opening it),” he said in an email. “You will  not recognize the space once we are finished with it.” The more than six-thousand-square-foot corner location will incorporate design elements found in the other HBs in Winter Park Village and Winter Garden. So this will be the first non-Winter location and accordingly will open in summer.

Here’s a save-the-date announcement for your 2024 calendar: Taste! Central Florida, the annual fundraiser to fight childhood hunger, will be Saturday, August 24, at Orlando World Center Marriott. Follow ticket announcements and sponsorship opportunities at the organization’s website.

The last time I visited Redlight Redlight in the Audubon Audubon District, my dinner came from a food truck parked in front for the benefit of the beer drinkers inside. Now it’s launched its own long-planned kitchen and will be serving dinners Wednesday through Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Jes Tantalo is the chef. If you’re hoping this means there will be a few more coveted parking spaces out front, sorry – word is that RR will continue its food truck program as well.

Just down the block, Farm & Haus has announced that it will vacate its space at East End Market, a closing that has been planned since it opened its full-service restaurant in Winter Park last year. It will continue to serve at East End through the end of January. Rather than stewing over the prospect of losing a tenant, East End Market posted a congratulatory message on its Facebook page wishing them well. “It’s always sad when long-time East Enders move up and out to the next part of their journey. But we’re grateful F&H isn’t going too far away.” Farm & Haus, too, thanked EEM for “[a] beautiful chapter in our story.” Very classy.

Speaking of landlords, Poblanos Mexican Grill in Altamonte Springs closed on Dec. 29 after a breakdown in negotiations to renew its lease. The owners announced they are looking for a new location.

TGI Fridays abruptly closed 36 “underperforming” locations across the country, including one in Ormond Beach. “That’s a good start,” is the phrase you’re looking for.

Recent PR pitch opening: “Hi Scott, Happy New Year! It looks like you have as much of a love of local dining and food as I do…”

It was a pitch for McDonald’s. Yes, most McDonald’s franchises are locally owned, and many locals work in them. But calling it local dining or local food is a stretch.
