New Magic Kingdom Restaurant, Be Our Guest, Will Serve Wine, Beer

Be Our Guest, the Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant that will open with the remodeled Fantasyland, will be the first Magic Kingdom restaurant to serve beer and wine with the meal.

The restaurant will begin service on November 19.
Walt Disney decreed that the Magic Kingdom — Disneyland in California, too — would be alcohol free. Over the years, guests have complained that they couldn’t enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. Now the company has listened.
“It just makes sense with this restaurant,” says Maribeth Bisiniere, vice president of food & beverage and merchandise operations integration. The restaurant will be French, and to open a French restaurant without offering wine.
The restaurant will be quick-serve during lunch — guests will order from a touchscreen console and take a seat to have the food delivered — and full service in the evening. Beer and wine will not be available at lunch.
I’m currently at a tasting of the restaurant’s menu. I’ll have more soon.
