Are you ready for it? It’s coming this weekend. It’s the single busiest dining day of the year. It’s Mother’s Day.
Yep, bigger than Thanksgiving Day, Easter — even Arbor Day. (Well, I like to dine out on Arbor Day.)
All the same rules apply for dining out on this holiday, but be prepared for longer waits for tables to be ready and for food to be delivered, and don’t be surprised if the quality of the food and service isn’t up to the restaurant’s usual standards. On holidays like this one, all bets are off.
If you haven’t chosen a restaurant to take your mom to Sunday, you’d better get cracking. Reservations are all but mandatory, and the most popular places fill up quickly.
Remember: this day isn’t about you, it’s about your mother. Don’t choose a restaurant because you like it or you’ve wanted to try it. Choose a place your mom would like to go to.
In case you’re still looking for options, here are a few restaurants that have indicated they’ll be open this Sunday.
HUE will feature brunch and dinner. Call 407-849-1800.
The Enzian is having a special showing of “My Fair Lady” and a buffet brunch. Wouldn’t that be loverly? Visit Enzian.org for details.
If you take your mom to Palm restaurant, she’ll get a $25 bonus card for a return visit. (No, you can’t apply the 25 bucks to Sunday’s meal).
Fleming’s has a similar offer.
And Stefano’s Trattoria in Winter Springs, the appropriately mom and pop Italian restaurant, is extending its hours on Sunday. Stefano’s is the rare exception for this Sunday — they do not take reservations.
What about you? Where do you plan to take your mom on her special day?

Hope you have a great day with Mom.
