Meet John Blazon

Written By Scott Joseph On May 18, 2009

John BlazonToday we introduce a new column: Blazon Wine, by John Blazon

John is one of Orlando’s best-known wine experts. He is one of only 100 people in the United States to earn the Master Sommelier degree, the pinnacle of winedom.

John was formerly the director of wine for Walt Disney World Resorts, where he was instrumental in developing the company’s far-reaching wine program. Under John’s direction, more culinary staffers earned basic wine certification than at any other company in the world.

He has a great passion for wine and for sharing his knowledge with others. His approach is easy-going, and he attempts to take wines off their proverbial pedestals and bring them down to a drinkable level.

John will be writing a regular column for Scott Joseph’s Orlando Restaurant Guide, covering topics ranging from what wine to drink with a fine meal to why his mother likes a certain wine from Australia.

We hope you find our reviews and news articles useful and entertaining. It has always been our goal to assist you in making informed decisions when spending your dining dollars. If we’ve helped you in any way, please consider making a contribution to help us continue our journalism. Thank you.
