La Coquina’s Brunch Returns for 1 Day Only

Written By Scott Joseph On January 13, 2014

La Coquina, the fine dining restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress that was closed in 2012, will return for a one-day-only encore of its celebrated Sunday brunch. The date is February 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and cost is $69 per person plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are available at 407-239-3830.

La Coquina was the perennial favorite for Sunday brunching. It was unique in that its spread was set up in the kitchen, with the various stations — salads, cold seafood, sausages, cheeses — displayed on the work stations. When guests were ready for the entree, they ordered directly from the chef’s station, where it was prepared a la minute.

No other brunch has come close to matching La Coquina’s, so this is bound to be a popular event. Some of the items on the Groundhog Day menu include: Retro Menu Highlights: Florida Greens,  Local Tomato Gazpacho, Truffled Pasta Pouch, Terrine of Goat Cheese, Seafood Bar, Beef Wellington, Parsley Crusted Rack of Lamb, Whole Roasted Dover Sole, Breast of Pheasant with Ravioli, Shrimp Scampi on Herb Breaded Tomatoes, Belgian Waffles with Devonshire Cream, Traditional Eggs Benedict, Array of Display of Cakes, Tortes, Petite Fours & Chocolate Truffles.

La Coquina is at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, 1 Grand Cypress Blvd., Orlando.
