It looks as though Matilda’s on Park, the troubled, vaguely Australian restaurant that was the latest to occupy the even more troubled corner at Park Avenue and Canton Avenue at the top of Winter Park’s shopping district, has closed. Although people in the area report seeing staff members inside, there is no answer to calls placed to the business’s phone. (A recording says the Bright House customer has not activated the mailbox.) And the doors are not open during posted business hours.

Matilda’s on Park opened in the first quarter of 2013, a quick replacement for another restaurant called Galopin, which had been open only a few months before it was rebranded. Prior to Galopin, the list of restaurants in the space included, Circa, East of Paris, Chapters, and Zak’s.
