Get Your Knives Sharpened Saturday at East End Market

Written By Scott Joseph On September 26, 2014

Knife sharpeningI hate dull knives. There’s nothing worse when you have a lot of slicing and dicing to do with a recipe and finding that your knife is dull enough to get through security at the airport. And I can never get the knack of using a whetstone to do it myself. If yours are as dull as mine are, perhaps I’ll see you at East End Market Saturday. Gregg Kurtz of Chef’s Edge Knife Sharpening will have his grinding wheel set up in front of the market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. I’ve had Kurtz sharpen my knives before and he does a terrific job. Reasonable, too: Six bucks for a six- to eight-inch chef’s knife. More info on the Chef’s Edge Knife Sharpening Facebook page.
