McWells, the little neighborhood bar and eatery on the corner of South Orange Avenue and Gatlin Avenue in Orlando, is becoming Friendly Confines. It was friendly before, but now it’s being taken over by the sports bar folks who started with a restaurant in Waterford Lakes several years ago and now have locations in Winter Park and Lake Mary as well. (Friendly Confines’ website notes that it has two of the best family restaurants and sports bars in Orlando, then lists three locations; awkward.)
The south Orlando location will have new patio seating for 80 and is expected to open this month.
Before it was McWells, this space was the longtime home of Tom and Mony’s.
