Longtime caterer opening in space on Fairbanks Avenue

John Rivers told the flog last week that he expects his long-awaited restaurant space for Four Rivers Smokehouse to open in the next three to four weeks. The restaurant will be at 2103 W. Fairbanks Ave. in Winter Park.

Rivers, who is not to be confused with longtime local restaurateur Johnny Rivers, who also sells barbecue from kiosks at Orlando International Airport, said there have been many delays in getting the restaurant readied and inspected. He told me he’s learned a lot.

Once Four Rivers is open, I’m thinking it will be time for a “best barbecue” vote. What do you think? It’s not too early to start campaigning for your favorites to be on the list. Leave a comment here.
