I hope you’ll join me Sunday for Florida Hospital’s annual Gourmet Soiree. It’s at Rosen Shingle Creek and starts at 5:30 p.m.

This event is different from other galas in that it is billed as an interactive dining experience. What that means is that instead of taking a seat at your table and waiting for the banquet staff to serve you, you’ll cooking the meal yourself with your other tablemates.

But you’ll have help. Each table will include a real live chef to guide you in the preparation. And there are some pretty fine chefs lined up, including Flog favorites:

Leading the festivities for the fifth year is Robert Irvine, host of Food Network’s “Restaurant: Impossible.”

Tickets are $250 per person with proceeds going to benefit Florida Hospital for Children’s Mission fit program, which battles childhood obesity. Click this link for more information and to purchase your ticket. Besides the cooking and eating fun, there will be live and silent auctions, as well.

I’m honored to have been invited to be one of the judges for the evening, so I’ll be wandering through the ballroom while you’re cooking. I can’t be bribed, but the offer of a glass of wine if you see me observing is always appreciated in some small way.

Should be a lot of fun; look forward to seeing you there.
