The Sentinel’s Paul Brinkmann is reporting that the recently spun off Red Lobster will establish its headquarters in downtown Orlando in the CNL building, next to City Hall and across the street from the soon-to-open performing arts center. According to the article, the giant crustacean will take over three floors in the building plus have a culinary center on the first floor. The culinary center is probably more along the lines of a test kitchen rather than a restaurant open to the public. But it does make one wonder if the company will open a Red Lobster in the downtown area. Perhaps in the former Urban Flats space?
The large lease deal includes naming rights for the building, so look for a big lobster in downtown’s skyline soon.
