There will be something new for chocolate lovers at Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival this year. Ghirardelli, the premium chocolate company, will host a “discovery of chocolate” exhibition title From Bean to Bar, and Disney pastry chefs will use the confection to make chocolate sculptures.
Some new chefs in the lineup include Grayson Schmitz from Bravo’s Top Chef: Texas; Ingrid Hoffmann from the Food Network; Jamie Deen, brother of Bobby, son of Paula. Cat Cora will also return this year.
So will the cranberry bog, which was a big hit last year. And festival organizers are talking with the folks at the watermelon council, too.
Perhaps the biggest news is that there will be a visit this year from Mr. Food. Sorry, I didn’t know who he was either. But apparently he precedes Food Network days as a television cooking personality who emphasizes simple recipes. Mr. Food (Art Ginsburg to his friends) now lives in South Florida, so it won’t be a big commute to the festival.
The 17th annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will run from Sept. 28 through Nov. 12 this year, a record 46 days.
Tickets for special dinners, tastings and events, including the Parties for the Senses, go on sale Tuesday, August 14, at 7 a.m. Sharp.
