Buy a meatball and help raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Buca de Beppo, the family-style Italian restaurant owned by Orlando based Planet Hollywood International, has teamed up with actress Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) to offer Meatballs 4 Ninos, a campaign to raise money and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its mission of finding cures for cancer and other diseases.
During the open-ended campaign, Buca will donate $1 to the hospital for every meatball appetizer, entree or side dish served in any of its 97 locations. The deal applies to the restaurant’s takeout service, as well. There are two Central Florida Buca di Beppos (Bucas di Beppi?): in Maitland, across from Enzian theater, and at Florida Mall. The Buca di Beppo website can give you specifics.
“We’re honored that Sofia is partnering with Buca to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said Robert Earl, founder of Planet Hollywood. “While our customers are enjoying some of our world-famous meatballs, they will also be giving hope to the patients at St. Jude and children with cancer in communities across America.”
“It means so much to me that one of my favorite restaurants is supporting a cause so dear to me,” said Vergara. “I hope everyone will visit Buca di Beppo to experience their legendary meatballs and support St. Jude.”
I’ve had the meatballs at Buca and I like them. We’re not talking wimpy meatballs here; they’re half-pounders, and they’re made daily at the restaurants. So I’m glad to recommend them, especially with the added value of doing something good while eating something good.
