Bubbaque’s Closes

Written By Scott Joseph On September 26, 2012

So what the heck is going on with barbecue joints?

I reported earlier that both O’boy’s and Blackwater barbecue restaurants closed this month. Now comes word that Bubbaque’s, which I reviewed in June, when it was still new, has let its smoker go cold. Bubbaque’s is a small franchise with eight — oops, make that seven — locations in Central and Northern Florida.

The phone is disconnected at the University Boulevard and Dean Road location. No further information on why it closed. But with the way things are going with barbecue joints lately, if I made my living selling smoked butts I’d be worried right about now.{jcomments on}
