Flog search: Who has the best pizza in Orlando?

Scott Joseph's Orlando Restaurant Guide is searching for the best pizza in Orlando, and you're invited to vote for your favorite pie. Here's all you have to do: Look over on the left side of the page and scroll down to where it says "Who has the best pizza in Orlando?" Click on the little circle next to your favorite then click the "vote" button. Your selection will be electronically tablulated. And no, there isn't a paper trail in this election. Check back and follow the results as they come in, but, please, vote only once (you can campaign as much as you'd like to get others to vote for your favorite). Voting will continue through August 31 and I'll announce the winner on Sept. 1. May the best pie win!

And if your favorite isn't listed among the nominees, feel free to leave a comment on this article and consider it a write-in vote.

i havent tried many places but of the ones i have tried, i would say valdiano's (an old foodie award winner) in winter park takes the pie for me.

As an ex-Bronx resident and enjoying some of the best pizza in the US, it's hard to find a good one down here. I seriously believe it has to do with the water as all the other ingredients are the same: flour, oil, yeast but the only component of the dough that changes is the water, and the dough is the BASE to any pie. That being said, I used to like Valdiano's but they've become a little inconsistent these days and my allegiance is going more towards Carlucci's in Winter Park. Eat in is always better to keep it 'crusty'..

I'm a native New Yorker, and the closest I can get to Mama's in Centereach on Long Island is Gino's. Slice of cheese with a garlic knot. I'd like to hear from any other NY natives who can find anything like home around here.

I know it sounds weird, "healthy pizza," but Pizza Fusion's take on an old favorite is top-notch! Not only are the pizzas (mostly) organic, but also tasty! Treat yourself and check them out. Sooo good! Lots of other good things, too: sandwiches, salads, even brownies!

Obviously no one has realized the vote was for the BEST pizza....and obviously, those that voted otherwise, had not yet been to Del-Dio's Pizzeria. As a transplanted New Yawka, I can say, I've tasted pizza, and then I've tasted PIZZA!!!! You've got to try Del-Dio's if you want REAL pizza!!!

I love Brooklyn-NY Style pizza and the closest you can get to it in Orlando is Del Dio's. they get 5-stars in my book!

Pizzeria Del-Dio in Orlando, near Fashion Square mall, defintely has the best pizza around! It's the only place we go to and recommend it to all our friends. MMMMMMM good!

The pizza at Del Dio's is the best I've had since leaving New York. Have tried others but they're not nearly as good.

Deldio's Pizzeria is definitely the best. Johnny D has won "Best Pizza in Orlando" previously and he's still on top. Doug - it's not the water... it's what you do with the flour!
